Position Description:

ARiA has multiple positions available for antisubmarine warfare (ASW) analysts / subject-matter experts (SMEs).

Working in coordination with a diverse team of ASW analysts, scientists, DevOps/DevSecOps engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, and subject-matter experts, this role will support development of training and tactical-decision-aid systems used throughout the US Navy supporting submarines, surface ships, surveillance sonar systems as well as a number of Command and Control (C2) ASW/ USW systems.

Capabilities developed will include tactical display components, web services, middleware translation tools, scalable algorithms, and multiple user interfaces streamlining the display of complex environmental data with real-time updates from assorted onboard systems and sensors.

Responsibilities:

Serving as a lead for the ASW analyst / SME team by setting direction as well as mentoring and supporting the work of more junior colleagues

Coordination with ARiA scientists and engineers in the design and development of training and tactical-decision-aid systems

Bringing subject-matter expertise to the systems-engineering process by participating in systems engineering for training and tactical-decision-aid systems

Interacting with external tactical-development-team members, US Navy schoolhouse personnel, and military and civilian DoD customers to ensure that trainer requirements are captured and designed into the trainers

Development and maintenance of threat databases based on intelligence information

Support for evaluation, testing, and validation of training and tactical-decision-aid systems in coordination with software and systems engineers and scientists

Development of training content for training and tactical-decision-aid systems embedded into tactical configurations, as well as the execution of fleet training at ship and shore-based facilities including basic, intermediate, and advanced training for both officer and enlisted personnel

Providing Fleet support for training and tactical-decision-aid systems including remote learning or locations on site, on ships and submarines, or at theater watch floors

Preparing documentation for customers to summarize design and status of software products

Assisting with in-field integration, testing, and support for training and tactical-decision-aid systems, with some US travel required

Requirements:

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information. Those selected for employment will be subject to a government security investigation.

Fifteen years of experience directly related to ASW operations, systems, and theory, including twelve years of fleet operational experience in the subject matter

Proven self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver excellence in a deadline-intensive environment.

Flexible, positive and energetic team player, able to work successfully in a team environment with minimal supervision

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems and to learn and apply new skills

Desirable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Associate’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Acoustics, or Engineering

Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI
