As Information Technology (IT) Security and Systems Engineer you will work in close coordination with ARiA scientists and engineers to design, develop, deploy, administer, and secure local-server and cloud-based information systems across ARiA. This position is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing firm and help design and direct the growth of our IT infrastructure while developing cutting-edge technologies that address crucial needs.
As an integral member of ARiA project teams, collaboratively work to design, develop, and deploy IT systems and infrastructure
Working collaboratively with the ARiA software team, perform or coordinate all activities necessary to ensure the safety of information-systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for the two ARiA offices located in the Washington, DC and Charlottesville, VA metropolitan areas
Working with a team across all of the ARiA locations, perform activities necessary to ensure the safety of physical information for implementing applicable requirements of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and related Federal requirements as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) for the ARiA in the Charlottesville area
Assisting with in-field integration, testing, and support, with some local travel required
Bachelor’s degree (or greater) in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or related discipline (additional relevant/specialized training and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
Two or more years of direct, hands-on experience working in a similar role
Fluency with Linux (including RHEL 7.X and Ubuntu) and a well-rounded knowledge of networking (e.g., LAN, WAN, Routing, Firewalls, and VPN)
Currently holding, or can obtain within 6 months of start date, an appropriate certificate as defined by DoD Directive 8570.01-M IAM II or higher (e.g., CAP, CASP CE, CCNA Security, CISM, CISSP, or GSLC)
Exceptional ability and desire to acquire new knowledge and skills to solve challenges
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced professional office environment
Ability to communicate technical solutions to project management and the development team
Superior oral and written communications skills

Desirable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Prior ISSM or Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) experience
Experience with eMASS and/or OBMS for Assessment & Authorization Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
Experience preparing reports such as SSPs and RARs
Experience preparing documents such as Contingency Plans
Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) as well as performing Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scans and associated checklist
